Key benefits
- In-clinic whitening in under 60 minutes
- Up to 7 shades brighter in one sitting
- Enamel-safe - no sensitivity for most patients
- Take-home maintenance kit included
- Results last 12–18 months
How treatment works
- 1
Shade assessment & cleaning
We record your starting shade and do a quick polish, because whitening works best on a clean tooth surface.
- 2
Gum protection
A protective barrier is applied to your gums so only the enamel is exposed to the whitening gel.
- 3
Light-activated whitening
Clinical-grade gel is applied in short cycles and activated, lifting stains several shades in about an hour.
- 4
Remineralise & maintain
We finish with a fluoride remineralisation step and send you home with custom maintenance trays.
The Braces & Faces difference
- Clinical-grade whitening gel - never over-the-counter strength
- Mandatory cleaning before whitening for best results
- Post-care fluoride remineralisation
- A check-up first, so we never whiten over a hidden cavity
Most people book whitening for a specific reason and a specific date - a wedding, a shoot, a job interview, or simply having looked at a photo of themselves. What follows is exactly what happens when you come to us for it, so you know what you are agreeing to before you sit down.
Your first appointment is an assessment, not a whitening
We do not whiten on the day you first walk in, and you should be wary of anywhere that offers to. Peroxide gel on an undiagnosed cavity or an exposed root surface is genuinely painful, and gel over tartar simply does not reach the tooth. So the first visit is a check of the enamel, the gums and any existing restorations, plus a recorded starting shade against a standard shade guide.
That shade record matters more than patients expect. Whitening is gradual enough that people forget where they started and then feel the result was small - having the before shade written down settles it. We photograph it too.
The honest conversation about your result
At the assessment we tell you what is realistically achievable for your particular staining, and occasionally that the answer is "less than you are hoping for". Tea, coffee, smoking and paan staining respond well. Fluorosis mottling and tetracycline banding respond poorly, and whitening can even make fluorosis patches stand out more. A single dark root-treated tooth needs internal bleaching, not a standard session.
The other thing we check is whether you have crowns, veneers or tooth-coloured fillings in your smile line. Those do not change colour at all, so whitening the natural teeth around them makes them look darker by comparison - sometimes enough to need replacing. Better to know that now than afterwards. Our teeth whitening cost guide goes through each of these cases in detail, along with what every option costs.
The session itself
Allow about 90 minutes in total. We start with a scaling and polish if you have not had one recently, because whitening gel cannot lift stain through tartar. Then a protective barrier is placed over the gums and cured - this step is what separates clinical whitening from salon whitening, and skipping it is how people end up with chemical burns on the gum margin.
The gel goes on in short cycles rather than one long application, activated by the light between cycles, with the shade rechecked as we go. Both arches are treated - we do not quote per arch and then surprise you with the second one. We finish with fluoride remineralisation, which is the step that most reduces the sensitivity you would otherwise feel that evening.
Afterwards: the 48 hours that decide your result
Freshly whitened enamel is temporarily more porous, which means it takes up colour as readily as it just gave it up. For the first 48 hours avoid anything that would stain a white shirt - tea, coffee, red wine, turmeric-heavy curries, beetroot, tomato gravies, cola and soy. Paan, gutkha and smoking are the worst of all, and the ones that most often undo a session within days.
Some sensitivity in the first 24 hours is normal, not a complication, and settles within two or three days. If you already have sensitive teeth, tell us at the assessment and we will pre-treat with desensitising agents rather than have you discover it afterwards.
Planning it around a wedding or an event
Leave three to four weeks, not three days. The sequence is assessment, then cleaning, then whitening once the gums have settled - and you want the sensitivity window comfortably clear of the event rather than on the morning of it. Delhi's wedding season produces a queue for exactly this every winter, so book the assessment early even if you decide against whitening later.
Making it last
- Expect one to two years from an in-clinic session, less if you drink several cups of chai a day
- A take-home tray kit used two or three nights every six to twelve months maintains it for far less than repeating the full session
- Rinse with plain water after tea, coffee or wine - it helps more than people expect
- Whitening toothpaste maintains a result; it does not create one
- Come back for a scaling every six to twelve months - much of what people read as "the whitening wearing off" is simply new surface stain
When whitening is the wrong treatment
If the problem is the shape or position of your teeth rather than their colour, whitening will not address it and we will say so. Chips and small gaps are usually composite bonding; deeper discolouration that will not lift is veneers; crooked teeth need aligners or braces rather than porcelain over the top. Where several of those apply together, it becomes a smile makeover and is planned as one sequence with a 3D preview first - the smile makeover cost breakdown explains how that is priced.
We would rather send you away with a ₹1,500 scaling that solves it than sell you a whitening session that does not. That is not modesty - it is that the patient who felt oversold does not come back for the implant three years later.
Whitening FAQs
Frequently asked questions about whitening
Everything patients typically want to know before starting treatment.
Yes. Dentist-supervised whitening does not damage enamel. The only common side effect is mild, short-lived sensitivity, which our fluoride remineralisation step helps prevent.
Typically 12–18 months. Coffee, tea, red wine, smoking and paan fade results faster; occasional take-home tray top-ups keep your smile bright.
No. Whitening only lightens natural teeth - crowns, veneers and fillings keep their colour, so we plan around any restorations in your smile zone.
At Braces & Faces in Mayur Vihar, a single in-office laser whitening session is ₹8,000–₹15,000, a custom take-home tray kit is ₹6,000–₹10,000, and the combination package (one in-clinic session plus maintenance trays) is ₹12,000–₹22,000. Teeth whitening charges in Delhi vary widely because some clinics quote per arch and exclude the mandatory cleaning - our price is for both arches, cleaning included, written down before we start.
Laser or light-activated whitening uses a clinical-grade gel that is activated in short cycles by a light source, lifting stains several shades in about an hour rather than over weeks. Laser teeth whitening cost in Delhi typically runs ₹8,000–₹15,000 for a single session at our Mayur Vihar clinic. It suits patients who want visible results before a wedding or event; deep tetracycline or fluorosis staining may need veneers instead, and we will tell you that at the assessment rather than after taking your money.
In everyday use they mean the same thing, and teeth bleaching cost in Delhi is quoted the same way as whitening. Strictly speaking, bleaching uses peroxide to lighten teeth beyond their natural shade, while 'whitening' also covers simply removing surface stains through cleaning and polishing. Many patients who ask for bleaching actually just need a scaling and polish, which is far cheaper - we check first.
Be careful with prices well below ₹6,000. They usually mean over-the-counter strength gel, no pre-whitening check-up, no gum barrier and no fluoride remineralisation afterwards - which is where sensitivity and gum burns come from. Whitening over an undiagnosed cavity or exposed root can also be genuinely painful. The safe version is not expensive; the unsafe version is just cheap.

I had wanted to fix my teeth for 15 years but was terrified of braces at 34. The 3D simulation showed me exactly how I'd look - I started the next week. Twelve months later I genuinely don't recognise my old smile. Worth every rupee.

Lost a molar two years ago and kept putting off an implant. Dr. explained everything clearly, the CBCT scan showed exactly what was happening under the gum. The placement itself was shockingly easy - I went to work the next day.

The Digital Smile Design process is brilliant. I saw my 'new smile' before committing to a thing. Eight veneers later and I finally smile in photos without thinking about it. Friends keep asking what changed.

Went to three clinics who all wanted to extract the tooth. Braces & Faces saved it with a single-visit RCT and a zirconia crown that looks better than the original. Drive 20 minutes from Noida, worth it.

My daughter was terrified. The doctor gave her two 'happy visits' before even talking about treatment - now she reminds ME about her appointments. The orthodontic results have been fantastic too.

Professional, transparent pricing, no upsell. I'd stopped trusting clinics after a bad experience elsewhere - these folks restored my faith. 18-month treatment done and retainers in.
