The Indian Dental Association recommends a child's first dental visit by age 1, or within 6 months of the first tooth. Early visits are short, friendly and build a lifelong habit of fearless dental visits.
Yes - untreated cavities in milk teeth cause pain, infection, and can damage the permanent tooth developing below. They also hold space for adult teeth, so losing them early often leads to orthodontic problems.
With patience, humour and never with force. We use 'tell-show-do', flavoured anaesthetic gels, and a reward system. Most kids who hated dentists elsewhere end up looking forward to visits here.
Age 7 is ideal. Most kids won't need treatment at that age, but early screening catches issues like crossbite, crowding or habit damage that are far easier to fix when the jaws are still growing.
