Invisalign is priced by how much tooth movement your case needs, not by the hour and not by the number of aligners you can see in the box. That is why two people can walk out of the same clinic with quotes ₹1,50,000 apart and both be quoted fairly. This guide explains what sets the tier, what a complete quote should cover, and the one thing to check before you compare any two prices in Delhi.
The tiers, and what puts you in one
- Invisalign Lite - ₹1,50,000 to ₹2,00,000. Mild crowding or spacing, usually front teeth only, with the bite essentially correct already. A limited number of aligners over roughly 6-9 months.
- Invisalign Moderate - ₹2,00,000 to ₹2,80,000. More crowding, some rotation of individual teeth, mild bite correction. Typically 9-15 months.
- Invisalign Comprehensive - ₹2,80,000 to ₹3,50,000. Significant crowding, real bite correction (overbite, underbite, crossbite), teeth needing substantial rotation or vertical movement. Unlimited aligners over 15-24 months.
You do not choose your tier - your teeth do. An orthodontist plans the movement digitally first, and the plan determines how many aligners it takes. This is also why an honest clinic cannot quote you a firm Invisalign price over the phone or from a photograph; anyone who does is either guessing or quoting something that is not Invisalign.
What should be in the price
A complete Invisalign quote in Delhi should include the initial records and 3D scan, the digital treatment plan, every aligner in the series, the attachments bonded to your teeth and their removal, all review appointments, any refinement aligners needed at the end to finish the case properly, and your retainers afterwards.
That last pair is where quotes diverge most. Refinements are extra aligners ordered once the main series finishes and a few teeth have not quite arrived - they are normal, not a failure, and they happen in a large share of cases. Retainers are not optional either: teeth move back, and without retention you will have paid two lakh rupees for a temporary result. If a quote excludes refinements and retainers, it is not cheaper than the one that includes them, it is just less honest about the total.
Why some "Invisalign" quotes are ₹60,000
Because they are not Invisalign. "Invisalign" is a specific brand made by Align Technology; "clear aligners" is the general category, and there are now many other manufacturers, including several Indian ones. Some are perfectly reasonable products. Some are considerably cheaper because the planning software, the material and the number of aligners are all different.
None of that is a problem - unless the cheaper brand is being sold to you under the Invisalign name. If a quote is dramatically below the ranges above, ask one direct question: which company manufactures these aligners? A clinic offering genuine Invisalign will answer immediately and can show you the ClinCheck plan in the Invisalign software. There is nothing wrong with choosing a cheaper aligner brand knowingly. There is something wrong with paying Invisalign prices for one, or believing you are getting Invisalign's track record when you are not.
The other thing that drives price: who is actually planning it
Aligners are manufactured to a digital plan, and the quality of that plan is the treatment. A general dentist can order aligners. An orthodontist has spent three additional years studying tooth movement, root position and bite mechanics, and knows which movements aligners genuinely achieve and which need attachments, elastics or a different approach entirely.
This matters most for the cases in the middle - where aligners can work beautifully with the right plan, or can spend eighteen months tipping the crowns of teeth while the roots stay where they were, producing a result that looks straight from the front and is a mess underneath. Ask who is planning your case, not just who is handing you the trays. Our guide on choosing a dental clinic covers the other questions worth asking.
Invisalign or braces?
Honestly: for many cases either works, and the deciding factors are lifestyle and discipline rather than clinical. Aligners are removable, near-invisible and far easier to keep clean - which is a genuine advantage for gum health over an eighteen-month treatment. They also only work while they are in your mouth, and they need 20-22 hours a day. Patients who cannot commit to that get a slower, worse result than they would have had with fixed braces.
Cost is a real factor too. Metal braces at ₹45,000-₹65,000 and ceramic at ₹65,000-₹90,000 achieve excellent results for a fraction of the aligner price - see our braces cost guide for what is included. Our braces vs Invisalign comparison works through the trade-offs case by case, and if you are not sure you need orthodontics at all, 8 signs you may need braces is the place to start.
Paying for it
Nobody pays two lakh rupees in one go. Orthodontic treatment in Delhi is normally paid in instalments across the treatment, tied to appointments rather than to a finance company, and that is how we do it - an initial payment and the balance spread across the months you are in treatment, with the schedule written down before you start. Dental insurance in India rarely covers orthodontics for adults, so plan on funding it yourself. Our cost calculator gives you an indicative total before you come in.
Before you commit
Get the 3D scan and see the simulated outcome first. With Invisalign you can look at where your teeth are projected to end up before you spend anything meaningful - which is unusual in dentistry and worth using. If the projection does not show you what you want, that is the moment to find out, not month fourteen.
